FAQ

Are James St Organics products certified organic?
We source as many ingredients as we can from certified organic sources; these are indicated in the ingredient listings on the label or product description.  If an ingredient is not indicated as 'organic', it is because we cannot find a genuine certified organic source anywhere in the world (eg. Kiwifruit seed oil) or it is fundamentally inorganic in nature (e.g. clays).

Are your products tested on animals? Never!  We also do not use animal derivatives or by-products. We test our vegan friendly products on family, friends and long-suffering partners :-)

Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Absolutely. All are from organic certified sources where available and chemical free, we do not use alcohol, preservatives or artificial fragrances in our oils.  Some of our products contain small amounts of essential oils, check the ingredients lists for details.

I have gluten/dairy/nut intolerance, can I use James St Organics products?
All our products are gluten and dairy free.  Some of our oils are made from nuts so care should be taken if you have a nut allergy.

Won't my skin break out if I start using oils?
Your skin may undergo a small adjustment when you first start using oil on your face, but it soon normalises and you will be less likely to break out and have clogged pores from using oils. Your skin will start to rebalance its own oil production. Our face oils will not give you oily skin.

Are James St Organics products suitable for all ages and skin types?
Our products cover a wide range of skin types and are suitable for mature, damaged, acne prone and sensitive skin as well as normal or combination skin. You can search for products for your skin type in the online shop.

How long before I see results?
Depending on your skin concern, you should start to see changes in your skin within a week or less, particularly if you have previously been using products containing chemicals or alcohol.

Are your product ingredients listed on the packaging?
You will find full product ingredients on the packaging and on each product page.  We clearly identify ingredients that are certified organic and the percentage of organic ingredients in each.

Where should I store my product and do your products have an expiry date?
Our products are preservative free and are made with fragile oils, so we suggest a shelf life of 12 months for our oils.  Our gels, skin toners and masks have 18 months shelf life.  Products should be kept in a cool environment away from sunlight.  We use pumps for the oils to maximise freshness and prevent contamination, and we use glass bottles which are better for the environment.

Are James St Organics products safe for use during pregnancy?
Our products are mostly not suitable during pregnancy due to the fact that some contain essential oils. Most of our products contain rosemary extract which is completely natural but it's suggested that rosemary could bring on a contraction later in the pregnancy so it's best avoided.  If you are unsure if a product might be safe for you, please contact us to discuss.   We may be able to make you a safe product that you can use during pregnancy, feel free to contact us.

How long for my order to arrive?
